NEWSLETTER #53

Hello Spring!! Here’s what’s happening in the Town of Dayton.

The Raw Water is on for the season.

With the threat of flooding in our area our town crew made a sand bag filling station at the new shop by TRVCC.  There are some sand bags filled thanks to TRHS Students and the Dayton Church youth group.

Our website features a list of activities, events, and meetings. The web address is daytonwyoming.org.  Our minutes and agendas are updated every month on the website. Check out the business section on our website for a list of our local businesses.  Thank you for supporting our businesses.

The Art Badgett Pool is scheduled to open on June 5, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. weather permitting.  Please call Tongue River Valley Community Center at 655-9419 to sign up for the first session of lessons.  Lessons will start June 19th.  We are thankful for all of the great help from TRVCC as our manager again this year.

The Kleiber Cabin will open for the season on June 5, 2017.

The annual Big Horn Mountain Scenic Trail Run is June 16-17, 2017 with the finish line in Scott Park.

The Community Yard Sale is scheduled for June 24, 2017.  Contact Joey at 655-9386 or Gina at 655-2443 to buy a place on the yard sale map by June 6, 2017.

There will be a 2nd annual street festival on June 24, 2017 on W 3rd Street. Half of the street will be closed for this event.

Tongue River Valley Community Center will host the annual 3 on 3 tournament at Scott Park on June 24, 2017.  For more information on these and other TRVCC events check out their webpage www.trvcc.org.

This is the 41st year of Dayton Days.  It is scheduled for July 28th and 29th.  The parade will be on the 29th.  Councilor Craig Reichert is the Chairman of Dayton Days.  Please contact Craig if you are interested in helping with this year’s Dayton Days. The theme this year is “Stars, Stripes and Community”.

On behalf of the Council and staff I would like to welcome new employee Russ Borzenski.

The Town of Dayton will be working on a few streets after July 1, 2017. This fall we will start the lighting project on main street.  We will be removing the old light poles and replacing them with new decorative lights.  We will be installing two flashing speed limit signs at both ends of town.

Please give us a call at the Town Hall if you have questions about these projects or any other topic.
Have a fun and safe summer.

Mayor Anderson
